I might tell you how old I am but most of you would call me an old fossil. Actually I'm 76 years young and don't look a day over 55. It's an Andonian thing.
I was born on Ando Prime into a family of legend. The Bendu's have always had a strong connection to the Force. Some say that is a good thing others say it is a curse. Why? Because of my ancestor, Darth Bane. Bane was an evil man; a dark Jedi who craved power and did anything he could to gain it.
My family's relation to him has caused a great deal of suffering to those who have gone before me and to those still alive. Particularily my dear granddaughter Cae. Too weak to resist the DarkSide, she failed the Bendu trials and was doomed to follow a dark existence.
I have personally fought against those emotions that would lead me astray. Particularliy anger. It is not wise to anger a Bendu.
As a youth I was rebellious but always ended up on the good side of Master Yoda. I became a Jedi knight and eventually settled down when I married my dear wife Janna. She was a healer and was stricken by a deadly disease that caused her untimely death. My son Soryn and his wife helped me to get through my pain, but alas....tradegy would follow me again. One day on a far away planet, Cae took it upon herself to take the lives of her parents, Soryn and Mira Bendu. I retreated to my home on Ando Prime consoled only by the fact that my other granddaughter Willa needed my strength. After seeing her recovering from the trauma, I stayed alone in my misery, vowing never to return to active service. I retired from the Jedi arts until shortly after Willa's marriage to Dash Rendar. It was then that I realized that I had wasted too much time angsting over something that I could not change. It was time to move on and resume my presence in the Force. And so I returned to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and from there, to Corellia. Now I offer my wisdom, advice and protection to those who seek it and often to those who do not.
My life has a purpose once more.
As an elder Jedi Master, I am not always called upon into active service. Many of my duties are diplomatic ones however I am always eager for adventure. As Master Yoda says "Adventure....a Jedi craves not this" Many a time I have gotten myself into trouble with the Council over THAT line.
